15 Hudson Hollister Endorsements: 'I Think I'm Going To Win'

Joliet City Council candidate Hudson Hollister also announced details for his victory night celebration on April 6.

JOLIET, IL — On Wednesday morning, Joliet City Council at-large candidate Hudson Hollister announced 15 political endorsements. He said the people supporting his candidacy in the April 6 race represent a broad consensus among Joliet's leaders, neighborhoods, and communities that he is the best candidate to "Get It Done!"

Endorsing Hollister were two state legislators, two current members of the Joliet City Council Bettye Gavin and Pat Mudron, two Will County officeholders, eight business and community leaders, plus his grandmother, Joan Hollister Gillespie, widow of baseball and football coaching legend Gordie Gillespie.

Hollister said the people endorsing him are Republicans and Democrats, conservative to moderate to liberal; they are from the east side and west side and far west side; and they represent business, labor, and nonprofits.

"I'm proud to have earned the endorsements of the broadest group of Joliet leaders I can imagine," Hollister said in Wednesday's news release. "We are going to need to bring everyone together to fix our downtown, connect our neighborhoods, strengthen all our communities, and end this current Council War. The endorsements I'm announcing today are evidence that this is possible. Let's Get It Done!"

Additionally, Hollister has also announced on social media the details of his April 6 election night party. The event will be in the grand ballroom of downtown Joliet's historic Union Station. It will go from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it will be free to attend.

On Wednesday, Hollister told Joliet Patch "I think I'm going to win."

Hollister also told Patch that he does not consider himself to be a Progressive candidate.

"I'm politically moderate," he said.
