2 Joliet Women Stabbed Preston Heights Victim: Complaint

Two Joliet women are now in the Will County Jail in connection with this week's non-fatal stabbing in Joliet Township.

JOLIET, IL — An 18-year-old Joliet woman and a 25-year-old Joliet woman were arrested this week by the Will County Sheriff's Office in connection with a non-fatal stabbing in the Preston Heights area. Vanessa Zavala, 25, and Aaliyah Bedolla, 18, both remain incarcerated in the Will County Jail and each of them is charged with two counts of aggravated battery.

A Will County judge set their bail at $25,000. The criminal complaint states that both Bedolla and Zavala stabbed a woman about the body with a knife, causing her great bodily harm, on Monday, Dec. 28.

Jail logs show that Bedolla lives in the 600 block of East Jackson Street, while Zavala lives in the 600 block of Oakview Avenue.

Will County Associate Judge Donald DeWilkins ordered the codefendants to stay away from the stabbing victim as well as a house in the 300 block of Louis Road, if they are able to post bail.
