2 Loaded Guns Seized During Clement Street Arrest: Police

Joliet police were called to the 100 block of Clement Street around 11:30 p.m. after reports of suspicous people in the area.

JOLIET, IL — A Will County judge set bail at $100,000 for a 20-year-old Joliet resident who police say had two loaded guns in his possession when Joliet police arrested him late Sunday night in the 100 block of Clement Street.

Joliet police arrested Christian Lizardi Mancera on two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition, defacing identification marks on a gun and no FOID. A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested and taken to the River Valley Juvenile Justice Center on charges of possessing controlled substances.

Joliet police were sent to Clement Street around 11:25 p.m. after getting a report of suspicious people lurking around the area.

Officers spotted Lizardi Mancera and juvenile on someone's porch, police said.

"Upon speaking to Lizardi Mancera, officers observed a handgun in Lizardi Mancera’s waistband and he was placed into custody without incident and officers recovered the loaded handgun," police said.

And that was not the only gun Joliet police say they found.

"Officers recovered a second loaded handgun from his sweatshirt pocket," police reports indicate. "Officers determined that the serial number of one of the handguns had been defaced. Officers recovered an Oxycodone pill upon search of the juvenile. He was placed into custody without incident."

According to the jail records, Lizardi Mancera lives on Joliet's east side, in the 400 block of Francis Street.
