Officers quickly caught the 16-year-old, police said, and he had a loaded gun with him.

As for Gant, officers later caught him in the 300 block of First Avenue, and after his capture, a Joliet police dog found a loaded gun not far from the location Gant was arrested, police said.

"Grigsby was identified as the driver of the vehicle," police said. "He was placed into custody without incident for an active Will County failure to appear arrest warrant. He was cited for the traffic violations as well."

Gant, 19, lives in the unit block of North Cagwin Avenue, in Joliet's St. Patrick's Area, jail logs show.
