62-Year-Old Killed In Hit-And-Run: Joliet Police
Police are searching for a silver sedan with front-end damage.
JOLIET, IL ? Police are investigating a hit-and-run Saturday night in which a 62-year-old Joliet man was killed, according to authorities.
The incident was reported around 9:30 p.m., police said, adding the crash left the victim lying on the sidewalk near Fourth Avenue and Chicago Street with critical injuries. He was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Hospital but later died, according to police. The intersection was closed for several hours, police said.
The man had been crossing Chicago Street heading east when he was hit by a silver sedan that was traveling north and speeding, according to police, who used witness accounts and video footage to investigate.
