A service will be held Saturday at St. John M.B. Church in Joliet.

Alfred G. Andrews
Alfred was born October 3, 1941, blessed to be the first born of Rev. Clyde and Sister Mildred Andrews.
He was a longtime resident of Joliet, Ill.. and a friend to many. Soft spoken with a kind spirit, he will be sorely missed. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. after many years of service. He passed away on Dec. 23, 2013.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice, and one grandson, Kyle Watt.
He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and now is resting and awaiting the rapture of God’s saints to be caught up first in the Heavens with him.

He was a great violinist and an avid lover of music. He enjoyed hunting and traveling, and family was important to him.
He was the loving husband of his dedicated wife, Betty Joe, and the proud father of Brian and Renee. He is also survived by siblings Clyde Andrews Jr., William Andrews and Sherry Arthur; nine grandchildren, Brian Jr., Tiffany, Keegan, Shawn, Jarrell, Krystal (Ray), Brandon, Byron and Keenan; 25 great-grandchildren; in-laws Joan Gaston of Joliet, Ill., Ed (Catherine) Wright of Water Valley, Miss., James (Valerie) Wright of Water Valley, Miss., Dorothy Townsend of Water Valley, Miss., Inez (James) Smith of Milwaukee, Wis., Martha Cunningham of Milwaukee, Wis., Mildred Wright of Milwaukee, Wis., Kenneth (Rochelle) Miller of Chicago, Ill., and Mary Ann (Calvin) Tally of Oxford, Miss.; special friends Herman Wheatley and John Gavin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2013 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the St. John M.B. Church, 104 E. Zarley Blvd. St., Joliet, Ill. Service at 10:00 AM, Bishop Willie H. Loyd officiating. Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, Ill.
