Inspired in 2019 by the 50th anniversary of the events of 1969, “Flower Power” was written as an amusement over the pandemic.

It addresses everything missing from her life at that time: fun, adventure, excitement, crowded military barracks rooms, alpha males, laughs, travel, romance, intimacy, and sex.

As a nurse she studied all human body systems. Yet no body part fascinated her as much as the brain and the human behavior it directed. As a result, Lake’s characters are flawed and full of psychic complexity.

As a feminist she writes to liberate her male characters from toxic masculinity for only then will the earth be free of aggression and war.
