Bicentennial Park Gun Arrest Made By Joliet Police
An 18-year-old Joliet teenager was arrested last Wednesday after bringing a gun to Joliet's Bicentennial Park, prosecutors say.

JOLIET, IL — An 18-year-old Joliet teenager was arrested last week by Joliet police on several felony gun charges at Bicentennial Park.
Prosecutors have charged Christopher Diego Garcia with one count of unlawful use of weapons and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
The criminal complaint states that on June 16, Garcia, who lives in the unit block of North Center Street, "knowingly possessed concealed on or about his person a pistol, a Glock .380 semi-automatic handgun, in a public park ... Bicentennial Park ... and he was not on his land or in his own abode, legal dwelling, or fixed place of business, or on the land or in the legal dwelling of another person as an invitee with that person's permission."

One of the other felony charges filed against Garcia states that he "had not been issued a currently valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card."
As of Monday night, Garcia remained in the Will County Jail, unable to post 10 percent of his $75,000 bail.

Garcia was not arrested at one of Joliet's weekly Summer Concerts on the Hill, which is now in its 47th season.
According to the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park website,"Every Thursday June through August, enjoy new acts and many returning favorites. Bring blankets and chairs for hill seating."
