Plainfield Teen Dies Of Gunshot At Crest Hill Forest Preserve
The Will County Forest Preserve Police Department is overseeing Friday afternoon's death investigation in Crest Hill.

CREST HILL, IL — A 19-year-old Plainfield man was found dead from a gunshot wound shortly before noon Friday at the Theodore Marsh preserve in Crest Hill, officials told Joliet Patch.
Will County Forest Preserve spokeswoman Cindy Cain said that two people walking on the path west of Gaylord Road and north of Theodore Street found the young man's body about 20 yards off the trail and called 911.
Crest Hill and Forest Preserve District of Will County police responded to the 911 call at 11:47 a.m. The Will County Coroner’s Office pronounced the Plainfield resident dead and an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.

The Will-Grundy County Major Crimes Task Force was not called to the scene. The case was handled by the Forest Preserve and Crest Hill police, officials told Patch.
A handgun was recovered at the scene, Cain said.
