Based on a semi-autobiographical production written by late famed playwright and author Neil Simon, Brighton Beach Memoirs was the first chapter in his Eugene trilogy which also features Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound. The production is set in September 1937 during the Great Depression in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn, NY.
Centered around Eugene Morris Jerome, a Polish-Jewish American teenager, Brighton Beach Memoirs will explore different themes and take theatergoers through Eugene’s experiences with puberty, sexual awakening and a quest for his identity. The teen must also deal with family affairs as well with his brother, parents, aunt and cousins.
This production is directed by Luke Pascale, and Stephanie Maldonado serves as the assistant director. The producer is Al Pindell. The cast includes the following: Zane Carmine, Kyle Wynn, Lori Carmine, Ted Holste, Lindsey Gleffe, Karianne Griffith, and Coral Weikert.
Tickets for this hilarious play are only $13 and can be purchased here. Seating is limited.
Bicentennial Park Theater is a part of the not-for-profit corporation, Latitude 41.
