Burger King Teardown, Rebuild Planned In Joliet
Joliet's City Council will vote Tuesday night on a proposal to allow for a double drive-thru lane at the corner of Cass and Collins.

JOLIET, IL — If you were thinking Joliet's east side Burger King restaurant at 400 East Cass St. was looking rundown and the parking lot had seen its better days, you were right. Even the owners of Burger King agree the building and parking lot are outdated.
On April 30, representatives with Burger King notified the city of Joliet of plans to demolish the existing fast-food restaurant. Burger King wants to build a new fast-food restaurant on the same property, at the corner of Cass and Collins Street, not far from the Joliet Central High School campus.
On Tuesday night, the Joliet City Council is expected to vote on Burger King's plans for a new drive-thru permit. When the new restaurant is built, Burger King wants to have a double-drive thru lane at 400 East Cass St.
