Car In DuPage River: Where's The Driver?
Joliet police, Joliet fire and Troy Township all responded to the partially submerged Ford Taurus in the Du Page River before 6 a.m.

JOLIET, IL — Someone drove a car into a shallow area of the DuPage River on Monday morning, but what happened to the driver remains shrouded in mystery.
Around 5:35 a.m., crews from the Troy Township Fire District as well as Joliet Fire Department responded to the area along Black Road and the northwest Frontage Road after a car was found in about two feet of water. The car turned out to be abandoned.
According to Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English, squad cars responded to the bridge over Black Road for a report of a car in the river.

Officers found a blue Ford Taurus partially submerged, facing east. The immediate area was searched for victims by members of the Joliet Police Department and Joliet Fire Department without success.
Area hospitals were also contacted with negative results as well, English informed Patch.

"Further investigation determined that the vehicle appeared to be eastbound on Black Road just west of the bridge at which time the vehicle drifted across the westbound lanes and off the roadway into the river," Joliet police announced. "Officers were unable to locate any other vehicles that appeared to be involved in this crash. This case remains under investigation."
