Channahon Worker Arrested For Joliet Shooting on Youngs Avenue
On January 18, at 6:04 a.m., Joliet police officers responded to the 300 block of Youngs Avenue for a report of shots fired.

JOLIET ?The Joliet Police Department issued a press release on Saturday revealing that 18-year-old Joliet citizen Giovanni Simpson was arrested and put into the Will County Adult Detention Facility on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Joliet police noted that following an investigation into the shooting that took place in the 300 block of Youngs Avenue on January 18, the detectives identified Simpson as a suspect involved in this shooting.
Simpson was taken into custody by detectives at his workplace in the 23000 block of West Eames Street in Channahon on Friday at 5:53 p.m.

Earlier, Joliet police announced that on January 18, at 6:04 a.m., the officers responded to the 300 block of Youngs Avenue for a report of shots fired. The officers located numerous spent shell casings in the street and discovered a nearby house which had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire. One person was inside of the home at the time of the shooting, but there were no reported injuries. Officers completed a canvass of the neighborhood and were unable to locate any victims or any additional property which had been struck.
