Chase Through Joliet's Forest Park Area Leads To Capture: Cops
Joliet police say 23-year-old Roberto Amador drove away from the police because he did not want to be served with a protection order.

JOLIET, IL — A 23-year-old Joliet man who did not want the police to serve him with an order of protection led officers on two chases through the city's east side Tuesday night, police said. The incident led to the eventual arrest of Roberto Amador, who was booked into the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding a peace officer, fleeing and eluding a peace officer, two counts of obstructing a peace officer, criminal damage to property as well as several traffic offenses, Joliet police announced.
Around 7:15 p.m., Joliet squad cars rolled up to a house in the 1000 block of Draper Avenue to investigate an order of protection violation, reports show.
"Officers determined that Amador was a respondent in an order of protection that had yet to be served. It was learned that Amador had fled the area in a vehicle prior to arrival of officers," Joliet police said.

Minutes later, Joliet police spotted Amador but when officers tried to pull him over near Belle and Fairview Avenues, the 23-year-old man hit the gas and led police on a chase, reports show.
Near Ewing Street and Woodward Avenue, Amador briefly stopped his car, but then he pulled away and sped off as officers ordered him to get out of his car, Joliet police reported.

The second pursuit led to Amador's capture near Woodruff Avenue and Louise Ray Parkway, which is where "Amador exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident," police reports show.
Amador lives in the 800 block of Joliet's Curtis Avenue. He was booked into the Will County Jail around 10 p.m. Tuesday and will appear before a Will County judge sometime Wednesday for a bail hearing.
