JOLIET, IL — Joliet's effort to land a Chick-fil-A took a couple of years but it finally happened. The Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A franchise acquired the old Lone Star Steakhouse property, bulldozed it last summer and built a new fast-food restaurant on the lot with a double-drive thru.

At 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, Chick-fil-A opens for business in Joliet. Get ready, Joliet.

Joliet Patch's previous news articles on the Chick-fil-A project often drew tens of thousands of readers.
