Cleveland Myers Obituary
A service will be held Friday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Joliet.

Cleveland Myers
Destined for glory on December 6, 2013. He was born June 21, 1963 in Grenada, Miss., to the late Irene and Cleodoa Miers.
Cleveland joined First New Hope M.B. Church under the Rev. Dr. Montgomery. Upon moving north, Cleveland joined Mt. Olive M.B. Church under the Rev. Johnson. He was a choir member.
Cleveland attended JTHS and JJC and continued his studies in Heating and Boiler Operator and became the top operator at JTHS and Joliet West. He was employed for 27 years and an avid football player, a coach’s dream as he earned the outstanding player award.
He provided special care to his parents, aunt Annie and his godparents.
He was preceded in death by his parents; niece Monica Hardy; and sister Marene Hardy-Bates.
Cleveland leaves to cherish his memories, dear sister Louise (Joseph) Jones; brother Cleodoa (Shawnaa) Miers; nephews Jahi and Jaylan Jones, Gregory (Elisha) Hardy and Tavares (Bille) Hardy; nieces Corey, Sally, Tiffany (Raymus) Parnell, Keyosha Parnell; significant other Charlene Gardner and her children; and a host of aunts, uncle, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home and Friday, December 13, 2013, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1710 Carey St., Joliet, IL. Service at 11:00 AM, Dr. Angelo Hill, officiating.
Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
