"Hornsby continued to refuse to comply with orders at which time officers broke the driver side window and removed Hornsby from the vehicle. Officers were able to place Hornsby into custody after a brief struggle," according to Joliet police.
Once Hornsby was put in handcuffs, he refused to walk and he struck one of the officers with his head, reports state. During the search of his car, Joliet police seized a bag of marijuana and an open alcohol container, police said.
At the downtown police station, Hornsby refused to let officers conduct a search, police said.
"A short time later, Hornsby indicated that he had narcotics concealed in his buttocks. Hornsby then produced a clear bag containing multiple individually wrapped bags of a white rock like substance that later tested positive for crack cocaine. Hornsby was booked and transported to the Will County Jail," Joliet police announced.
The Will County State's Attorney's Office also charged Hornsby with manufacturing and delivery of cocaine and possession of controlled substances on July 29, a day after Joliet police arrested him. Hornsby stayed in the Will County Jail from July 28 until Sept. 24 after his bail was reduced by Will County Judge Carmen Goodman from $200,000 to $25,000.
In his pending drug case from July, Hornsby is being represented by attorney Jordan Kielian of Joliet's Mahoney. Silverman & Cross law firm on Infantry Drive.
