Cornelius Harris Sr. Obituary

A service will be held Sunday at All Nations C.O.G.I.C. in Joliet.

Pastor Cornelius “Nick” Harris Sr.

Pastor Harris was given in birth to the late Elder Clinton Harris and Argell Harris November 5, 1933. He was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.

He was educated in the Joliet Public School system and retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 35 years of service. Harris was the Pastor and lifetime servant of the All Nations C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of Bishop Robert R. Sanders.

Pastor Harris was preceded in death by his father Clinton Harris; mother Argell Harris; brothers Roosevelt Harris, Clinton Harris Jr. and Daniel Harris; sister Emma Jean Harris; and grandson Matthew Sims.

To cherish these memories, he leaves his devoted wife, Missionary Jessie Lee Harris; children Connie (Charles) Jones, Cornelius Harris Jr., Kathleen Sims, Jeanette Harris, Dorice Jordan, Darwin Harris, Jeffery Harris, Macio (Leigha) Harris and Cornelia Harris; siblings Louise Carson, Margaret (George) Haggler and Gilbert Harris; special nephews Paul Harris and Kevin Carson; 36 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members too many to name.

He will be greatly missed by the All Nations Church, the entire Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Illinois and the greater Joliet gospel community.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at All Nations C.O.G.I.C., 503 S. Water St., Joliet, IL. Celebration of life at 7:00 PM, Bishop Robert R. Sanders officiating. Interment Monday, December 9, 2013, at 10:00 AM at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
