Coroner IDs Body In Route 6 Burning Car As Joliet Resident
Last Friday's early morning deadly crash caused Joliet police to close about a mile of Route 6 to investigate the wreck.

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office has investigated several Joliet traffic fatalities of late. On Monday evening, the coroner's office announced that the body of a man burned beyond recognition last Friday morning along Route 6 and Terminal Court was 23-year-old Matthew Sellers, of Joliet.
Dental records were used to confirm his identity, the coroner's office said.
Around 3:25 a.m. on May 7, Sellers was driving a car along Route 6 that smashed into a traffic light pole. The car rolled and caught on fire. His 34-year-old passenger was thrown from the car, and the Joliet Fire Department rushed the severely injured him to St. Joe's hospital where he was reported in critical condition.
