Chief: Missing Crest Hill Woman's Car Found In Joliet

On Thursday, Crest Hill announced that Wendy Gessing's car has been found, but police have not been able to locate her.

CREST HILL, IL — Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark told Joliet Patch that police found the gray Honda CRV belonging to 50-year-old Crest Hill resident Wendy Gessing on Thursday in the city of Joliet, in the 400 block of Buell Avenue.

The previous day, the chief said, multiple people supposedly saw Gessing at the Motel 6 in Joliet at McDonough Street and Larkin Avenue.

"We have talked to witnesses who allegedly saw her at the local Motel 6 as of Wednesday," Clark said.

Crest Hill police have said that Gessing has been missing since last being seen on June 12, near the intersection of Theodore Street and Raynor Avenue, which is the border for Joliet and Crest Hill.

"We're trying to ensure her safety," Clark told Patch on Friday. "We are still trying to locate her."

Crest Hill said Gessing has brown eyes and blonde hair. She is 5-foot-5 and weighs 130 lbs. She has a tattoo on her left forearm.

Anybody who has information on her whereabouts is urged to call the Crest Hill Police Department at 815-741-5111 and ask for Investigator Conor Sweeney, the chief said.
