Diamand's Confirms It's Closed Forever, As Patch Reported
Diamand's closed its restaurant in March amid the coronavirus crisis and never reopened.

JOLIET, IL — Back in August, Joliet Patch broke the news that the Diamand's restaurant on Plainfield Road, one of Joliet's long-standing sit-down restaurants, was done for good. The property was being advertised for lease. On Thursday, the family-owned business made its closure official.
Diamand's had been a mainstay near the Louis Joliet Mall since 1989, but in the summer of 2019 business was starting to go downhill. Diamand's cut its hours and some changes to its menu at that time. Then came the world-wide pandemic in March, prompting Diamand's to close its doors and keep them closed.
On Thursday, Diamand's posted its first message on its Facebook page in more than six months informing everyone "It is with a heavy heart that we announce our doors have officially closed for good. Unfortunately, with the onset of COVID-19 we were forced to close our doors abruptly without any certainty of the future. These are difficult times we are in and small business is suffering across the nation."

The message from the Diamand brothers, Pete, George and Jim ended by thanking everyone for their patronage and "to please make sure to continue to support small business, they need you now more than ever."
To our loyal customers, employees, friends, and community members, It is with a heavy heart that we announce our doors...
