'Did You Know' Segment Puts Joliet's 'Crossroads' in Spotlight

A feature on the "You & Me This Morning" on WCIU-TV focused on the historical intersection of Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway in Joliet.

One of Joliet's claims to fame is that it's only place in the country where Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway -- once the two major cross-country roads before the arrival of interstates -- intersect.

The folks at "You & Me This Morning" on WCIU-TV were so surprised to find this historical footnote so close to home that they did an entire segment on it, and in the process put the spotlight on the Joliet Area Historical Museum as well.

For those who Joliet newcomers who might not know where the intersection is, you'll find it at Cass and Ottawa streets in downtown Joliet -- right where the 204 Ottawa St. museum is located. The museum features a Route 66 Welcome Center for all those folks -- one-time Beatle Paul McCartney being among the most famous -- traversing the "Mother Road" from Chicago to Los Angeles.
