Don’t Miss Out On Rickie Lee Jones At The Rialto

Singer-songwriter and two-time Grammy Award winner, Rickie Lee Jones, is coming to Joliet this Fall to sing her greatest hits at the Rialto Square Theatre on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets starting this Friday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m.

Rickie Lee Jones, born in Chicago, has taken the music industry by storm since getting her start singing in clubs, bars and showcases in Los Angeles in the early to mid-1970s. After a few chance meetings and collaborations, she went on to record and release her self-titled debut album in 1979. Her first single, “Chuck E.’s in Love” peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The debut album was an overall success, earning Jones four Grammy Award nominations, with the singer taking home the coveted Best New Artist award.

Following the success of her debut album, she continued down the road to stardom with her sophomore album, Pirates, soaring to the No. 5 spot on the Billboard 200 chart in 1981. From there, she produced hit record after hit record, releasing more than 15 studios albums over the course of her career. Jones’ music has also been included on television and in movies like Jerry Maguire, Thirtysomething, and House M.D.

Now the celebrated artist, actress and narrator is set to take the Rialto stage with her hits, which are fused with rock, R&B, blues, pop, soul, and jazz. It’s no wonder why she was listed at No. 30 on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Rock & Roll list from 1999, and her album, Pirates, captured the No. 49 on NPR's list of the 150 Greatest Albums Made by Women.
