The Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions for its upcoming season at the Oremus Fine Arts Center on the Lewis University main campus.
MYSO has openings in all sections of the orchestra: violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, and tuba.
Those interested in auditioning should be prepared to play a solo, scales and to sight-read.

The orchestra is open to high school students and advanced middle school instrumentalists who study with a private teacher.
The MYSO rehearses from 6 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday evening that school is in session at Lewis University.

The orchestra is scheduled to perform six concerts during the 2012-2013 season.
Concerts will be held at Lewis University, Joliet Junior College, and at the Bicentennial Park in Joliet.
