Festa Italiana Is Back: American Italian Cultural Society

There was no Festa Italiana last summer amid the coronavirus pandemic, but the popular Joliet area summer festival is returning.

The American Italian Cultural Society is located at 1918 Donmaur Drive in Crest Hill. It's well known for its regular spaghetti dinners held in the dining hall throughout the year.

CREST HILL, IL — A number of popular Joliet outdoor festivals aren't taking place this summer because of uncertainties amid the coronavirus and social distancing. The Joliet Park District canceled June's Taste of Joliet for the second straight year. St. Joseph's Catholic Parish canceled all of its weekend festivals at St. Joe's Park for this entire summer.

And last week WJOL reported Fiesta en la Calle was being canceled for September in downtown Joliet because of the uncertainty with coronavirus protocols and in the interest of safety.

But on Sunday night came some welcome news. The American Italian Cultural Society in Crest Hill announced that Festa Italiana will take place Aug. 13-15.
