The officers learned that Hollie was attempting to cash a check from a work from home job in an amount over $5,000. Bank personnel discovered discrepancies with the check, including conflicting names of the company from where the check allegedly originated, which differed from what Hollie reported to the bank.
Bank officials contacted the company listed on the check to verify Hollie?s employment, at which time the company denied her association and confirmed that the check was fraudulent. Hollie was unable to provide further details regarding her employment or the legitimacy of the check and she was then placed into custody without incident.
