A Great Day To Ride Your Jet Ski In Joliet's Canal: Video

Tuesday's temperatures reached 67 degrees, so someone decided it was the perfect time to ride their Jet Ski through Joliet's canal.

JOLIET, IL —If it's fun, it's in downtown Joliet. That's what people like to say. On Tuesday afternoon, with the temperatures in the high 60s, a lone outdoor recreation enthusiast was having a blast making waves on their Jet Ski as they rode through downtown Joliet's dirty canal waters.

It was a sight to see.

Joliet Patch noticed the personal watercraft around 3 p.m. as the Jet Ski was making enough circles to get you dizzy as they rode between the McDonough Street Bridge and the broken Jefferson Street Bridge. (The Jefferson Street Bridge has stayed in an upright position since the Illinois Department of Transportation shut it down last June.)

In any case, the Jet Ski eventually raced north, passing the Cass Street Bridge near the Harrah's Casino and that's where Patch lost sight of the rider.

Wherever they were going, the Jet Ski rider was enjoying the sun and the warmer March weather, splashing and making waves in the canal waters of downtown Joliet, all by themselves.

After Patch posted the article and video, one regular reader commented, "Hope their tetanus is current."

"Hope he stopped off for a HAZMAT decontamination after that ride," another person wrote.

"Nothing like Riding in the Sanitary canal!" a third person commented.

Hey, remember, if it's fun, it's in downtown Joliet.

That was the case Tuesday.
