Joliet police thanked Bolingbrook's Police Department for capturing their armed robbery suspect at the GameStop store on Weber Road.

JOLIET, IL — A 25-year-old Bellwood man is now behind bars at the Will County Jail after Joliet police say he held up the GameStop store in the 1500 block of Route 59 with a loaded gun Saturday evening. With help from Bolingbrook police, Jocqui McGee was captured several minutes later at the GameStop on North Weber Road, Joliet police announced Sunday.
McGee has been charged with the armed robbery in Joliet and he was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
Joliet Police Chief Al Roechner issued a statement Sunday praising members of his detective unit for alerting other police departments about the suspect information in quick fashion.

"Thank you to the Bolingbrook Police Department for their quick assistance in apprehending Mr. McGee," the chief's statement read.
Joliet police say the Route 59 armed robbery near Theodore Street happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say McGee entered the store and talked with one of the employees about buying a video game console as well as several video games.

McGee "then suddenly produced a handgun and demanded that the associate give him the merchandise. The suspect took a video gaming console, video games and an action figure at which time he fled the store before officers arrived," Joliet police announced.
After hearing of the armed robbery, Bolingbrook police alerted the GameStop store on North Weber Road and gave the employees a detailed suspect description. Sure enough, the police hunch was right and "a short time later, the Bolingbrook GameStop called Bolingbrook Police indicating a suspect matching the description provided was currently in the store. Bolingbrook Police arrived and identified the suspect as McGee. McGee was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun while in the store and was taken into custody," Joliet police announced.
Joliet detectives went to Bolingbrook Saturday night to interview McGee, "who made statements implicating himself in the armed robbery," Sunday's news release announced.
McGee was booked into the Will County Jail around 2 a.m. Sunday, jail logs show.
