Habitual Criminal Arrested With Gun On Oneida St: Police
The 27-year-old Lockport man was arrested by Joliet police in the 500 block of Oneida Street around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police arrested a 27-year-old armed habitual criminal in the 500 block of Oneida Street early Tuesday morning after police say he was banging on a relative's car armed with a gun.
Police rushed to the area and arrested Daeviontae Pruitte of Lockport on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a gun, being an armed habitual criminal, unlawful possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and aggravated assault.
Joliet police say the incident leading t Pruitte's arrest occurred around 4:25 a.m. It was a disturbance call.

"Officers determined that a female was leaving for work at which time a vehicle pulled alongside her vehicle," reports show. According to police, Pruitte got out of his car and began punching the woman's window and he tried to get inside her locked car.
Pruitte is a relative of the woman, reports show.

"Priutte possessed a handgun in his hand during the altercation. The victim drove away from Pruitte and returned home to call 911," according to police.
The 27-year-old Lockport man then tried to get inside the woman's house, reports reflect.
"Officers responding to the residence located Pruitte attempting to enter a rear door of the residence," police said. "Officers placed Pruitte into custody without incident."
Joliet police found a gun inside Pruitte's car and "it was determined that this was the same handgun used by Pruitte in the incident," the agency announced.
