Hampton The Pig, Rescued By Joliet Police, Gets New Home

JOLIET, IL —The story of the Joliet Police Department's rescue of a wandering pig on the city's east side has a happy ending. Almost two weeks ago, the pig was turned over to the custody of the Joliet Township Animal Control.

Now, the pig has been given a new permanent home, but it's not in Illinois.

The Joliet agency announced on Facebook Thursday that "Hampton has enjoyed his stay with us and appreciated all the care and yummy snacks he received. Hampton is now off to Oinking Acres Farm Rescue & Sanctuary in Indiana."
