Happy Mother’s Day From Makayla Szendzial
"Through thick and thin you have always been there."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Makayla Szendzial's letter to her mom:
Wow, it’s Mother’s Day 2018 already? Last I remember, everyone in the family was chilling at the campground. There was no college to worry about, work wasn’t hectic, no boarding school. Where has the time gone?
All I know is that you have been there with me every step of the way, from the little things, like driving me to and from all kinds of practices and competitions, all the way to bigger things, like supporting me when I wanted to go away to school. Through thick and thin, you have always been there, whether you wanted to be or not, letting me know someone always has my back, even though we don’t always get along.
Nevertheless, you are still the best mom someone could ask for, and I am so happy that I was granted such a wonderful, loving, beautiful, caring and devoted mother like you. Thank you for everything you do. I love you a lot, and I hope your Mother’s Day is phenomenal. You deserve the best.
