JOLIET ? The Joliet Fire Department made it evident that Friday's fire on The Hill in the Forest Park Neighborhood of the east side was extremely challenging to extinguish based on the way the homeowners lived.

According to battalion chief James Ryan's press release, at 9:49 a.m., the Joliet Fire Department responded to 1342 Fairmount Ave. for a structure fire. The first units arrived within twp minutes of the call. Upon investigation, the crew found heavy smoke coming from the structure and the residents were not home. Responding crews made an aggressive interior attack on the fire.
