Incoming Plainfield South Freshmen Program Set for Jan. 23
The event will be the first step in the registration process for the Joliet-based school.

Plainfield South High School in Joliet will host a program on Jan. 23 to help eighth-grade students transition into high school.
All eighth-grade students from Aux Sable and Drauden Point middle schools and any District 202 private school families who will attend PSHS are asked to meet at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym, 7800 Caton Farm Road.
The "Explorations" program is designed to help incoming freshmen and their parents get acquainted with the school, curriculum and extracurricular activities, according to a District 202 news release, which also said:
"This event will be the initial stage in the registration process for all incoming freshmen. Students will receive their high school course recommendations and freshman registration packet.
"Department chairpersons and counselors will be on hand at each school to assist and answer any questions. Students and their families may also be able to browse the array of after school activities, and meet with coaches and discuss the high school sports programs."
