Indian Pakistani Restaurant Opens Near Russo's Italian Deli

CREST HILL, IL — The Joliet area is not known for its Indian and Pakistani cuisine, but a new restaurant that opened Monday hopes to change that. Arhaan's Kitchen has taken over an empty office in the same plaza where Russo's Italian Deli opened in late November.

Arhaan's Kitchen is at 2424 Plainfield Road unit 400, right by Meineke Car Center. Awais Ahmed said he named his new restaurant after his son. "I think a lot of Indian people are living in Plainfield, Joliet and Crest Hill. Around this area, there is not a lot of Indian food," he told Patch.

"I feel we can make it."

For now, Arhaan's Kitchen is available for takeout orders. The new Crest Hill restaurant hopes to offer indoor dining in a few more months. The new restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and closed Sunday.

One page of the menu includes Indian and Pakistani traditional meals including Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken and Nehari as well as barbecue and kabobs and everything in this menu section is $9.99 or less.

There are eight menu selections available for Mediterranean options and all are $8.99 or less.

The new Crest Hill restaurant's motto is: "We've got something for everyone."

The second page of Arhaan's Kitchen menu features fried chicken, burgers, sandwiches and sides and shakes. The fried chicken 10-piece legs and thighs includes fries and is $10.99, the owner pointed out.

The Special Arhaan's Burger with fries is $7.99.

"Our prices are more affordable," Ahmed told Joliet Patch.

He opened Monday around noon and said the first customer who visited placed a very large order.
