Irene Green Obituary
A funeral service will be held Friday at Carey Tercentenary AME Church in Chicago.
Irene I. Green, age 88 years. Died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.
Born in Hickory, Miss. Resided in the Joliet/Lockport area for 15 years prior to relocating in Chicago for 60 years. Formerly employed at Curtis Candy, retired from Walgreens and later from Rush Medical Center.
Proceeded in death by her husband Abraham (2012), four brothers and four sisters.
Survived by her devoted sister Josephine (Marshall) Kelly of Joliet; stepdaughter Dorothy Parker of Chicago; brother-in-law John Nixon Sr.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10am at Carey Tercentenary AME Church, 1448 South Homan Ave., Chicago, IL 60623. Visitation from 9 to 10am. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, Elwood, IL.
