Jan. 31 Deadline to Dispose of Old Christmas Trees
The city of Joliet will pick up live trees if they're left at the curb or in the alley on the regular garbage collection day.
If you still have a live Christmas tree that you've been meaning to dispose of, the last day you can include it with your garbage collection will be Jan. 31.
All the city of Joliet requires is for you to leave it at the curb or alley on your regular trash day, and it will be hauled away.
If you miss your chance, the next soonest time to dispose of it will be spring, when landscape waste collection resumes.
