Joliet's George Honiotes Faces More Felony Charges
Joliet police arrested 56-year-old George Honiotes on felony domestic violence charges. It's his second felony arrest since last May.

JOLIET, IL — A 56-year-old Joliet man has been arrested on felony domestic violence charges, the second time in less than a year that Joliet police have charged George Honiotes with felony crimes involving violence.
His latest arrest happened Sunday. He was booked into the county jail around 6:30 a.m.
According to the criminal complaint, Honiotes grabbed a woman who is a member of his household or his family and he pushed her about the body. Honiotes has a prior conviction for violating an order of protection, his latest charges show.

In addition to the two felony domestic battery charges, Honiotes is also charged with one count of resisting a peace officer. He is accused of pulling away from Joliet police officer Nicholas Szalinski during the handcuffing process, the criminal complaint states.
Joliet Patch wrote about Honiotes' arrest from last May in an article headlined, "Joliet Man Rolls Around Yard In Underwear, Fights Police: JPD." In that incident, Honiotes was arrested by Joliet police on charges of aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer. Honiotes attacked Joliet police officer Michael Kljaich, striking him about the body, the complaint states.

After the Joliet man remained in the Will County Jail for two months, Will County Judge Carmen Goodman freed Honiotes last July on a $15,000 personal recognizance bond, over the objection of prosecutors from Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow's staff, court files show.
Those felony charges are still pending at the Will County Courthouse.
This week, bail was set at $10,000 for Honiotes on his new charges. He lives in the 1200 block of West Jefferson Street, jail logs show.
