Jerk Flavors Authentic Jamaican Cuisine Opening On Jefferson St.
The new Jerk Flavors restaurant will fill the empty Video Quest store next door to Louis' Family Restaurant at 1001 W. Jefferson St.

JOLIET, IL — Jerk Flavors Authentic Jamaican Cuisine, a restaurant on 159th Street in Markham with strong Google Reviews, is expanding to Joliet's West Jefferson Street. On Monday afternoon, Joliet Patch's editor saw a bucket truck erecting the new restaurant sign next to Louis' Family Restaurant at 1001 West Jefferson St.
Once it opens, Jerk Flavors will fill the empty storefront next to Louis' Family Restaurant. The owners of Louis' Family Restaurant told Patch the next door business was a Video Quest. The video rental store closed at least five years ago and remained vacant ever since.
The Jerk Flavors Restaurant and Lounge in Markham currently shows 106 Google Reviews and a rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars. They specialize in Caribbean food. Markham is a suburb south of Chicago in Cook County.

"With an emphasis on family, all of our food is hand made, from scratch, and part of our family recipes that have been crafted & perfected over several generations. The owners of Louis' Family Restaurant told Joliet Patch they do not believe the new Jamaican style restaurant will negatively impact their restaurant.

Louis' is open daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Louis' Family Restaurant focuses on breakfast and lunch.
"They're the complete opposite cuisine for sure. Our customers are pretty loyal to us; they love Louis'," remarked Nick Polimenakos, one of the sons who helps run his father's restaurant, a fixture on Joliet's West Jefferson Street since 1992.
It was not immediately known when Jerk Flavors Authentic Jamaican Cuisine will open in Joliet, but Monday's new restaurant sign means that a spring opening is possible.
