Joliet Boy, 16, Had Loaded Gun In Car: Police
A carload of teenagers was stopped by Joliet patrol officers they spotted open alcohol containers inside their vehicle, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A 16-year-old Joliet passenger was arrested Sunday night after police say he had a loaded gun inside a car. The teenager was arrested on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition and not having a Firearm Owner's Identification card.
The traffic stop that led to the teenager's arrest happened around 7:50 p.m. near Henry and Baker Streets.
"Officers requested the occupants exit the vehicle after observing open containers of alcohol in the vehicle," Joliet police said. "Upon search of the vehicle, Officers recovered a loaded firearm from the location in which the juvenile was seated in the vehicle. He was placed into custody without incident."

The juvenile was taken to the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
