Fatal Joliet Shooting Is Second Homicide In Less Than A Week.
The Joliet Police Department said Sunday night's deadly shooting was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m.

JOLIET, IL — An 18-year-old man was shot Sunday night while in the passenger seat of a car near Western Avenue, Joliet police said. Homicide victim Jwaun Jones was in the car near Western Avenue and North Bluff Street on Sunday night when he was shot, police said.
Following the shooting, the driver sped to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center and arrived at the emergency room where Jones was later pronounced dead.
Joliet police learned of the homicide shortly before 9:25 p.m.

In an unrelated homicide last week, Joliet police are still investigating the shooting death of a 56-year-old woman. Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of S. Illinois Street in Joliet's St. Pats neighborhood at 6:44 a.m. after someone reported a woman had been shot in the home.
When they arrived, police found a woman dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
