JOLIET, IL — A 49-year-old Joliet woman was arrested Wednesday evening at the Joliet Housing Authority's Murphy Building after Joliet police say she used her cane to attack someone who parked near the building. Monalisa Porter was later booked into the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated battery.
Joliet police say the disturbance at 311 North Ottawa St. happened around 7:45 p.m. According to police, Porter attacked a man on the housing authority property. Porter lives at the Murphy Building, according to county jail records.
"Further investigation indicated that Porter was sitting outside of the building and was upset about where the victim had parked his vehicle," Joliet police reports show. "Porter and the victim started to argue, and Porter struck the victim in the back with her cane. Porter was taken into custody without incident."
