Joliet Man, 49, Chokes Woman Inside Joe's Bar: Police
Squad cars from the Joliet Police Department were sent to the Joliet Plaza Inn & Suites around 2 a.m. Friday.

JOLIET, IL — A 49-year-old Joliet man is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say he attacked a woman inside Joe's Bar at the Joliet Plaza Inn & Suites at 4200 West Jefferson St. early Friday morning.
Joliet officers hauled away Fredrick Betts in handcuffs, charging him with aggravated domestic battery, police said.
The call for police occurred at 2 a.m. According to police, Betts attacked a woman he knew.

"Further investigation determined that Betts and the victim began to argue while at Joe’s Bar connected to the hotel. Betts began to choke the victim to the point that she could not breathe," Joliet police reports show. "A security guard intervened to stop the attack and evicted Betts from the bar. The victim returned to their hotel room where Betts threw an ashtray at her."
Joliet police did not have any problems taking Betts into custody, reports show.

Will County Jail logs indicate that Betts was booked into custody around 5:20 a.m.
He lives at the Joliet Plaza Inn & Suites on West Jefferson Street, jail records state.
