JOLIET, IL — An inmate died Tuesday at the Kendall County Jail, less than a week before his scheduled release, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. Officials say deputies found 31-year-old Sean Michael Hannon, of Joliet, slumped over on his bunk with a bed sheet tied around his neck during a routine safety check just after midnight.
After being found unresponsive, officials say deputies initiated lifesaving measures immediately. Paramedics took over a short time later, but were ultimately unsuccessful. Hannon was declared dead just before 1 a.m.
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating Hannon's death with help from the Kendall County Coroner's Office.
