Joliet Patch Reaches Milestone 10,000 Facebook 'Likes'

We here at Joliet Patch have received an early Christmas gift, and it's all thanks to you, our loyal readers.

Less than a week ago, we announced we were just shy of reaching not only a local goal, but a national one: 10,000 Facebook "Likes." We asked you to help us reach that milestone by year's end, and you did so with more than two weeks to spare.

We are the first Patch in the country to reach this number, and we're not too shy to admit we're busting our buttons with pride.

We must thank those who heard our call and pushed us over the top. But we do not forget -- or take for granted -- all of you who came before them and who come back day after day to read the news, leave comments, and post blogs, events and announcements. Joliet is an amazing town, full of smart, engaged and kind-hearted people, and we endeavor to always remember that.

One of those amazing people is Mary Gaydos, winner of our Push to 10,000 contest winner. Mary's name was drawn randomly from among those who "Liked" us in this final push, and she wins not only a bagful of Patch schwag but two tickets to a show at the Rialto Square Theatre in downtown Joliet.
