Joliet Slammers Christmas Decor Thief Arrested In Joliet: Police

Joliet police say 52-year-old resident Victor Sessoms had scrapped the Christmas decorations for money following the theft.

JOLIET ? Victor Sessoms, the 52-year-old resident accused of stealing at least $45,000 in Christmas decorations from Joliet Slammers stadium and having the stolen items scrapped for metal, has been captured, the Joliet Police Department announced Tuesday morning.

In the press release, police spokesman Dwayne English announced that Sessoms was arrested, processed and released on a notice to appear in Will County court for the crime of felony theft.

According to Sgt. English, Sessoms was identified by the detectives as the suspect responsible to stealing Christmas reindeer decorations valued at $45,000 from the loading dock of Duly Health & Care Field in Joliet on November 11-12.

Police said Sessoms indicated his involvement in the theft, and investigators determined that Sessoms had scrapped the Christmas decorations for money following the theft. On Nov. 22, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for felony theft for Sessoms.

On Monday afternoon, Sessoms was found in the 3900 block of Cedar Creek Drive at 3:53 p.m., and he was placed into custody without incident. Sessoms was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear.

Joliet Patch previously reported that Sessoms comes from the 2200 block of East Washington Street, over in the Ingalls Park area of the east side.
