Latin King Member Charged With Dealing Cocaine In Joliet: Police
The former Joliet resident who now lives in Channahon tried to flee a Joliet police traffic stop near Jefferson Street, police reports say.

JOLIET, IL — A 38-year-old Channahon man is now back in the Illinois Department of Corrections following his latest arrest by the Joliet Police Department on charges of possessing controlled substances with intent to deliver, fleeing and eluding a police officer and several traffic tickets.
According to police, officers tried to pull over Salvador Delosangeles in his dark green 2015 Ford Taurus around 2 p.m. on Feb. 22 near West Jefferson Street and North Cagwin Avenue for a traffic offense.
"The driver refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued to the area of Douglas Street and Wilcox Street where the driver finally stopped the vehicle. Officers identified the driver as Delosangeles, and he was taken into custody without incident," police reports say.

Upon his release from the hospital, Joliet police showed up to bring him to the Will County Jail. There are documents on file at the courthouse that indicate a relative in Joliet put up $10,000 cash to bail him out of custody, but Delosangeles is not a free man at the moment.
On Wednesday, Patch learned that Delosangeles is now back in the Illinois Department of Corrections, apparently for a parole violation. He was brought to the Stateville Correctional Center on March 6, prison records show.
In 2016, Delosangles was sentenced by a Will County judge to six years at the Illinois Department of Corrections for the crime of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Court records show that Delosangeles was previously convicted and served prison time for armed robbery, aggravated discharge of a gun and two aggravated battery offenses.
He is a known gang member with the Latin Kings, his 2016 sentencing document states.
Court records indicate that Delosangeles sold cocaine on two different dates in June 2015 to a confidential informant for the police. He was living in Joliet at that time.
In 2019, the founder of a ministry in Oswego wrote a letter notifying a Will County judge: "I am working with Salvador Delosangeles to remove his old life, gang tattoos. I have really enjoyed working with him because he is working so hard to build a great life for him and his family. With his positivity and eagerness to change, I am very hopeful for his future and the future of his family."
