Louis' Family Restaurant: Say This To Get Your Free Water Bottle

JOLIET, IL — The owners of Louis' Family Restaurant are just days away from their latest marketing promotion. In January, Louis' Family Restaurant gave away 400 free coffee mugs to all food-ordering customers who repeated the restaurant's catchy slogan, "Oh nice, that's nice."

From 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, the family-run takeout restaurant at 1001 West Jefferson St. will give away 500 24-oz plastic water bottles to anyone ordering food. Of course, there's one simple thing you must say in order to get your free water bottle.

Customers need to repeat the Louis' Family Restaurant's other catchy slogan: "Joliet's Fastest Drive Thru!"

To make sure some customers don't leave empty-handed, Michael Polimenakos, along with his brother, Nick, are limiting the number of free water bottles to two per vehicle.

For the past 15 months, the brothers have been helping their father, Louis, transform Joliet's long time diner into a thriving carryout-only restaurant with the focus on speed, speed and speed.

Fancy marketing posters are displayed in the windows of Louis' Family Restaurant making sure that patrons know that Louis' promises to live up to the self-proclaimed hype: Joliet's Fastest Drive Thru."

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Joliet Patch has produced several human-interest articles about the reinvention of Louis' Family Restaurant.

In March, ABC Channel 7 in Chicago produced a TV segment on Louis' Family Restaurant and the brothers' efforts to keep their family restaurant going by turning the restaurant into a drive-thru-only.

Last year's marketing efforts included professional advertising commercials featuring Rigo their cook and Zeus, the golden retriever dog, who belongs to the Polimenakos family.

Joliet Patch recently interviewed Michael and his brother Nick about why they're doing another free giveaway, this time providing customers with a 24-oz plastic water bottle that features the Louis Family Restaurant logo and the slogan: "Joliet's Fastest Drive Thru."

"We've got to be a little nuts to survive," Michael Polimenakos remarked.

"After the mug giveaway (in January), we were thinking we could do this in the summer. Why not a water bottle giveaway?

First a coffee mug, now a sports water bottle. If this it? Is the end of the marketing giveaways for Louis Family Restaurant for 2021?

Absolutely not, the brothers say.

Later this summer or perhaps in the fall, you can look for another giveaway.
