Machine Gun Shooter Arrested In Raynor Ave. Shooting: Cops
Tuesday afternoon's gunfire occurred in the 800 block of North Raynor Avenue. The two women were shot at as they sat inside their car.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police arrested a 20-year-old man following Tuesday afternoon's shooting that left two women parked in a car injured from broken glass. Police say David M. Allen fired a machine gun at the two women as they were parked in the 800 block of North Raynor Avenue. The women were not struck by the bullets, but suffered superficial wounds from the shattering glass in their car.
Joliet police say they arrested Allen and booked him into the Will County Jail on charges of unlawful use a weapon, possession of a machine gun and possession of a machine gun in a vehicle.
Joliet police responded to the shooting around 2:15 p.m. Officers were told that two people may have been shot. The two women were treated at the scene and did not need to go to the hospital.

"Detectives working this case successfully identified Allen as the suspect in this incident. Both Allen and the vehicle were located at a nearby residence and Allen was taken into custody without incident," Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English announced in Wednesday's news release. "At this residence, detectives recovered the handgun used in the shooting. Further investigation revealed that this handgun appeared to have been modified to a fully automatic weapon."
Will County Jail logs listed Allen as being a resident of Joliet's 1400 block of North Center Street. The Joliet police arrest records had Allen being a resident of Bolingbrook.

He will go before a Will County judge sometime Wednesday for a bail hearing.
