Man, 31, Shot Several Times Along Raynor Avenue

Several Joliet police cars rushed to North Raynor Avenue around 8 p.m. Friday to investigate the city's most recent shooting.

JOLIET, IL — A 31-year-old Joliet man remains hospitalized in critical condition after being shot several times Friday night near North Raynor Avenue and Hutchins Street, authorities said.

Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey said that ambulance crews rushed to the house in the 1000 block of North Raynor at 8:02 p.m. Paramedics found the victim lying in the street. The Joliet Fire Department's ambulance rushed the man to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center.

On Monday, Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English told Patch that Friday night's non-fatal shooting remains a very active investigation, and detectives are not releasing details about the crime at this stage.

News of the shooting was first reported by Joliet Facebook Live journalist Bob Hernandez. He went to the scene around 9 p.m. to inform his followers that someone was shot along North Raynor Avenue.
