Man Choked, Hit Ex as She Moved Out of Apartment, Police Say

Dennis Davis is charged with aggravated domestic battery in connection with the attack, Joliet police said.

A Joliet man who attacked his ex-girlfriend as she moved out of the apartment they shared has been charged with aggravated domestic battery, Joliet police said.

Dennis L. Davis, 50, of 322 Pine St., is accused of grabbing the woman around the throat and hitting her in the left eye when she and another former boyfriend arrived at the Pine Street home to remove her belongings, Capt. Tab Jensen said.

The victim and the second man left to call the police, and Davis was taken into custody after officers observed the marks on the woman's face and neck, Jensen said.

Davis is being held in the Will County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
